[store] charged 2x for 1 item. Only me?

I just bought something at [a store] today (small item under $20) and I see Im being charged 2 times (I looked at my account online). They prob swiped my credit card twice.

Interestingly, they didnt ask me to sign even once.

Did this happen to anyone else at that store?

In all my years of using credit cards, Ive never had that happen to me (getting charged twice for one item).

Did the transaction post, or its just pending. I've had it happen more than once that a transaction is pending twice, but it only gets posted once.

(And not from the store you went to.

Calm down. Relax. And even if does get posted twice, just give them a call. It could've been human error.

And posting the stores name is LH

Wow! Why lash out in public for probably a very common human(computer?) mistake. We once had that our card was charged 6x but either the store or cc noticed and fixed it. I suggest you call them up to to clarify. None of us can help you in a practical way anyway.

Oy. I know the people at [that store] and they are really folks with integrity and yiras shamayim. I'm positive this was a simple human error they'd be more than happy to rectify.

Can you try to resolve this directly with them without posting such info on the internet?

If for whatever reason they won't fix the error, you can always dispute the charge with the cc company. Benefit to using a cc!
To be honest, I haven't done it before but others have told me about it.

have you tried to clear this issue with them first ... mistakes can happen you know & communication is the best way to resolve anything

hopefully they will correct the double charge once you notify them

if not then you can dispute with the credit card company

OP here. I called my charge company and they told me my card was charged twice and the charge was reversed afterwards. End of story.
