We are having a freshly married couple over and I'm looking to serve something that's inexpensive and will still wow them!
Any suggestions?

Lol I can't help but laugh at the expression "wow them..."
Probably anything you serve will wow the bride, if she's just getting used to married life, keeping house, and cooking meals...
But on a more practical note, how about sesame chicken, restaurant style? There's a good looking (relatively easy) recipe in the new cookbook, secret of restaurant cooking or something like that

Serve lots of inexpensive side dishes like fresh onion rolls with a hearty steaming bowl of soup, salads, veg sides, starch sides.
What do you mean by inexpensive? Would love more of an ideas as to what sort of dishes we can recommend.

Rice and beans.

Home made brown rice, and a can of Goya red beans, heated up with a jar of Salsa sauce.

Ketchup will do IF IF you put cumin in it. Not a lot. Some.

Only brown rice. Two waters to one rice. A little salt in it or other seasoning.

A can of chick peas will not be amiss.

You can break an egg into the middle, keeping the yolk whole, and call it Shakshouka. Then, cover the pot to let the egg steam.
