A comment by frumdoc got me thinking about how the Queen of England is certainly the most well known monarch in the english speaking world (and she is on the currency of many english speaking countries outside of the US) but that there are other queens around the world and they are probably all snappy dressers. Very Happy

So here are some pictures (in no particular order) of Queens from around the world.

What styles do you like? Which outfits would you wear? (to an appropriate occasion)

Queen Sirikit of Thailand

Queen of Buganda Sylvia Nagginda

Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan

Queen Margrethe of Denmark

Empress Michiko of Japan

Sheikha Mozah, 2nd wife of Qatar Emir

Queen Letizia of Spain

There are sooo many more pictures but I don't want to make this hard to read.

And where is my darling Queen Silvia?
The Queen of England dressed fantastic. I love just about anything she puts on.
BTW ordinary commoners (aka us) are NOT supposed to dress like a queen. The outfits are supposed to be elaborate and overdone......... Even when we get dressed up in Escada it is not supposed to be comparable to the outfit of that of a Queen. That is one of my frustrations with certain royalty, and especially with the younger ones...

I'm sure she's a wonderful lady, but Queen Margrethes outfit reminds me of a poorly wrapped x-mas present.
Sheikha Mozah is absolutely beautiful. LOVE her style!
Queen Letiziah looks nice too, but if I didn't know who she was I would think she's a well dressed businesswoman, not a queen.

There are some very nice ones here. If I had the body, I would definitely go for some of these dresses.

The one thing they have in common: they are all so modest - all have long sleeves, long or mid-length dresses, nothing low-cut. Wow!

Some of these outfits are absolutely beautiful!

Her style is pretty typical. Are you unfamiliar with people from that area?

No, I am pretty familiar with people from that area and I still think she has great taste. The basics might be typical but then there is a flair.
