My career is very important to me. I went through a lot of school to get this job. I love where I am and where I plan to go with it. I like the people I meet, the experiences I have and the contributions I make to my job. I like making my own money. It also gives me a deep sense of pride and purpose to do what I do. With all that said...
I am b'h having my first baby soon and I am beginning to wonder if all this will change?
I know there have been a lot of posts about SAH vs working moms. My question is did your objectives for your career change dramtically after your children were born? Did you give up a job you LOVED for your family or were you able to balance your life? Can I continue on my career path and still be a good mother to my children as well as a wife to my husband?
Please share your experiences with a novice soon to be working mommy.

Imho, it is totally fine to be a working mom if you need to. But the children should get that you are working "for them" and not for your carreer... I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly... my mom had and still has a carreer (she is the director in a communication/ad firm), but it was clear it was something that came because she worked "for the family", not because her goal was having a career. She also went through lots of school (a Phd and 2 masters mainly) but personally she says she would drop everything if she could (she started working when I was around 6 by the way, and she thinks a small child needs the mom around, especially before kindergarten).

I have no personal experience on the topic as I never worked, but I would think if you could work from home or part time it would be better. Now if you need the money you don't have to feel bad even for full time.
