I think it has a lot to do with internal circadian rhythms which can be very hard to change. I know I've tried getting my 4 yr old to go to sleep earlier and it always backfires (he typically goes to sleep around 9pm). I've been told I was similar as a kid.

My 3 year old goes to sleep at 6:30. She wakes up between 7 and 7:45, depends on if she slept well at night. She needs more sleep. My 1.5 year old goes to sleep at the same time. She usually wakes up between 6:30 and 7, also depends on how she sleeps at night. She needs less sleep than my 3 year old. She takes a 1-1.5 hour nap in gan in the mornings. Totally depends on your child and how much sleep she/he needs!

Also, I davka did this time cause I have to work in the evenings. I probably would have kept them up a bit later if I didn't have to work. But my 3 year old will sleep too late if I put her in much later than 7:30 for sure.

They used to go in later. I switched slowly to earlier bedtimes - like starting at 8:30 one night, then 8:15 the next, then slowly back to 6:30 with lingering on 7:30 for a while so they could adjust slowly.

Good luck!

I think u prob need to keep record for a week of how much sleep they need. My 3 and 5 yr old both go to bed bw 7:30 and 8. My 5 yr old religiously sleeps 30-60 min more a nite than 3 yr old. So he (3 yr old) wakes around 6:00/6:30. She (5yr old) wakes 7 or just bf....they both have full days they just need a diff amount of sleep
