I am pretty sure I've had one. Every Fall we get different random interesting-looking squashes from the farmer's market and eat them, it's like a tradition. I don't remember exactly but the kabocha probably became a soup. The type where you sautee with lots of onions, maybe garlic, cook to soft in a little water with salt and pepper, puree the squash and then add milk and mix through.
