We Need buy a new oven. We want to get a self-cleaning function. We are choosing between two types of self-cleaning functions: ecoClean from Siemens, and the standard 950° Burn everything kosher for Pesach self clean.
Does anyone have the ecoClean function (catalytic?) or know anybody that does and how well it works? Or at least in relation to the piralytic self-cleaning function?
The price difference is around $350.

I don't know the terms you are using, BUT if you are comparing the old self cleaning high temperature method to the newer type that they've been pushing recently, you should be aware that the newer type is NOT the same in terms of kashering the oven for Pesach or even from switching from milchig to fleshig, etc. DD wound up gettting one of those not realizing.

We are not looking for cleaning for kashrus, or any other halachic reason. We will have a pareve oven to switch over for Pesach and switch back attests that is truly self clean. I am just looking for practically if it does what it says.
