You're more likely to get helpful replies if you give a location.

If you are in Brooklyn, Eddie Gindi (917-601-7317) is great - he is reliable, punctual, and inexpensive.

Sure. I hear that AJ's Handyman Services in Des Moines is great. You are in Des Moines, I'm sure.

Welcome new poster.

You might go to the local hardware store and ask for recommendations. Or local lumberyard. You might ask your shul's gabbai for a name.

take an old plug one off an old electrical gadget ... there are 2 wires that just need to be spliced & attached & then secured with electrical tape ...

or you can buy a new plug & follow instructions

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lev.....Zc336

doorknobs might need wd-40 sprayed into the tongue to get them to move properly - or some screw tightening to secure them

hinges could be need wood putty filler or replace with larger screws if they are loose from the cabinet

all of this is without seeing the actual problems - so it's a diy guesstimate
