First, no all shadchanim will ask for a pic.
Second, not all shadchanim who do will show the pic.
Third, I don't know any shadchan who will show one pic but not the other.
And fourth, there are guys who don't want, or don't require a pic. Some even refuse to see it, either to not show theirs, or because they think pics can lie.

Unless you mean the psychopaths trying to revive this and/or the pilegesh. As a shadchan IME "runnnnnnnnn" is the name of the game if they tackle the topic ever in the relationship. And no they don't quite have normal Torah support. |
Here in England (yes England!!) I personally know a few Yemenites with more than 1 wife. I also know a few in Israel. So yes it definitely still exists outside of Yemen.

Yes people can cheat. I hope the wife was aware what kind of milieu she was marrying into.

It is illegal to marry more than 1 woman. But, that is only when they have a civil marriage; a man can live with as many women as he wants, he can also marry them in a religious ceremony , as long as he doesn't get married according to the law.
