My son was unhappy with the camp we sent him to last summer. Not enough "camp" activities. He needs a camp where he is really roughing it, they swim in a lake, learn real survival skills, make campfires, fishing etc. He is too young for the traveling camps I have heard of. We will consider ANY all boys frum camps in the US. He keeps saying Jewish kids don't like what he does which makes me sad:(.

My brother has been going to Camp Mamosh in Northern California for the past few years. It's also called Gan Israel Ranch Camp and the kids ride horses and do lots of outdoorsy stuff.
As the name implies, it's run by Lubavitchers, but my family is not Lubavitch and there are other regular yeshivish kids at camp.

They've got a nice photo gallery.

Is rama only boys? I couldn't tell by the website but I requested more info. The Chabad camp sounds great I will look into it and helpfully it's the right age. I've heard of it but I thought it was for bar mitzvah age. Thanks. Keep the suggestions coming if you have them.

Ramah is co-ed, but I'm not sure how or if the kids are separated. My kids didn't go there; a close friend's kids did.

Website says camp Mesora is co-ed. I appreciate the thought but that is not an option for us.

Camp morasha has an amazing wilderness program called yagilu that is right up my sons alley!!!! Thank you for they suggestion. Unfortunately he needs to be one year older. Something for him to look forward to. The Chabad ranch camp may be good for this year. You ladies are the best, I mean it!
