I've read the same thing in several places, but the family formally converted as I understand.

ETA: just realized your use of the pronoun "it" had me confused.

Do you mean is it true that some people believe she is Jewish? Or is it true that she is Jewish?

Dunno about the former, it seems that the latter is false.

One can formally convert for legal purposes. But according to Torah and Halacha, a Jew is a Jew always. That's Why geirim have to be pushed off converting to judiasm as once they become Jewish...there is s'char v'oinesh for them...even if they change their mind.

A lot of famous people are suspected to be Jewish at one point, or another. Doesn't mean it's true.

This is a very old article, from June 2013. Also there are many non-Jewish Goldsmiths.
If indeed her grandparents are Jewish, it is highly likely there is some reference in synagogue archives.

She is not Jewish. They have researched her background for generations. She was born an Anglican but was never a churchgoer, and when she was engaged to Philip the royal family insisted that she have her Anglican confirmation to prove that she wasn't a Catholic either lol.

Also this goes to OP, but technically women who marry into the royal family do not assume the title of Princess with her first name, unlike women who are born royal (as in Princess Beatrice--the lady with a funky hat at the royal wedding who is Queen's granddaughter). Princess Di is more of a nickname, and her proper title is Diana, Princess of Wales (usage of Princess is only because her husband is Prince of Wales). So Kate's proper title is the Dutchess of Cambridge, but NEVER Princess (untill her husband becomes Prince of Wales).
