Hi, I have no clue how to clean them and I am starting to see my son's getting really dirty.
What do you do?
Washing machine will ruin them? spot clean them?
thanks!

I stick my toddlers in the washing machine with the rest of darks, air dry, and it looks okay but doesn't feel as starched.

I wash in the sink with shampoo/soap, then shape on a circle shaped toy we have and let air dry (in the sun if the weather is nice, I haven't tried yet in bad weather). I by accident put a few through the washing machine and I like the sink method better, it gets less crinckly. The crinkles come out in the air drying mostly but definitely looks nicer with the hand wash method. And I've been very impressed with my rhinestone ones that stayed on!

Don't they shrink when you wash them

I haven't had that problem, both with handwashing and with the ones that went into the washing machine accidentaly, but I wasn't using super hot water either way...

I dry it pinned to the top of a shaitel head so it keeps it shape.
I usually use about six pins aroun the yarmulke.

I also put them in the washing machine and find a round object to dry them on - usually a ball
But I have also found that turning them inside out and then rounding them around the ball to dry helps the edges keep their shape longer

I also dry them pinned on a sheitel head, especially when they get washed by mistake in the machine.

wash by hand and put them soaking wet on anything that will hold it up ... even a shampoo bottle
do not wring or squeeze cause it just will be all mangy looking
you can brush out the nap with an old toothbrush to revive the velvet
