I don't think herring should be used in *any* kind of cooking unless you are feeding a seal at SeaWorld. I'd definitely rate it among my least favorite foods. I won't touch it.

I once met someone who likes cinnamon raisin bagels with tuna salad!

It took me a couple minutes to figure out what the heck I had just served. I want to hurl just thinking about it. |

I actually like almost all foods except for canned tuna and persimmons. I recognize that they are not gross foods, but I literally will start gagging before I can even get them close to my mouth. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to avoid them.

I once accidentally put baking soda in a cake instead of baking powder. I offered a piece to a guest who ate it without complaint.
I later tasted it and gagged! It was AWFUL!

Boiled lamb's head one Rosh Hashana.
Funny how so many people dislike foods I love. Rose water flavored anything...yum! Marzipan...yum, yum! Even herring...yum!

My dh once surprised me with a cup of coffee in bed one morning. It was not sweet so I though that he just forgot the sugar. Later I asked him if he put sugar in it and said he did and pointed to the "sugar". I realized that he poured in salt. Funny that it did't taste salty, just not sweet.
I once ate kasha and thought that it tasted terrible.

I stay away from anything I think I won't like ... call me peculiar
the one thing I have tried that I cannot comprehend people eating are mushrooms ... it feels like you're biting into an eyeball
