Android lollipop, of course. 
I updated my phone to the new operating system and it's driving me crazy. It crashes, phone randomly freezes, and randomly restarts.
Anyone experienced similar problems?

You should probably do a hard reset. Make sure to have everything backed up first.

Basically revert back to the previous android version?

No, that won't revert back to the old version; it will reset and refresh everything on your phone so that hopefully the new version will work right. Reverting back to the old version is much more difficult.
