Kind of silly question, but do snaps have any advantages that zippers don't have? I just got a few new PJs for my daughter and found the zippers to be so much more convenient. I was wondering why everything doesn't have zippers. Are there any advantages that snaps have over zippers?

In my case - I liked (rather, needed) the snaps when DC was a baby, due to multiple medical issues and the resulting tubes and lines. The snaps enabled us to keep DC's "apparatus" safe and stabilized- and gave us a way to keep DC dressed!

I would search Carter's, Gap, Old Navy, Children's Place, and anywhere else for these, and buy them until they just didn't make them in larger sizes!

I used to wonder why they didn't make more of these for people like us!

Zipper are not as 'pretty and neat' as snaps.

Finer things come w snaps or even tiny mother of pearl buttons.

Personally I like zippers better too... Who has time for snaps.

What better way to change a blowout then ripping open the snaps?
After I wash them I snap the legs off all the stretchies to make dressing faster. With my fourth kid now, I don't even think about it.
2-3 yr olds sleepers on the other hand MUST have one long zipper and feet.

I too prefer zippers but snaps mean less exposed when you change a diaper which is useful in this weather.

When babies are very little I only like snaps, so I can undo the bottom for diapers changes without opening the whole thing.

for infants I hands down prefer snaps. while it takes longer im not afraid of catching their skin. Also they tend to lay nicer and not bump out like zippers do- esp when the baby is at the just out of 1 size but the other side is still large stage.

Thanks everyone! So, I won't go crazy buying everything w/ zippers when I have a newborn. Although, I am loving it for an older baby. It also seems that most sleepers 12 mo. size and up have zippers.
