I'm looking for religious Mizrachi music that my young kids can dance to. Any language! We have a bunch of Yiddish music but want to branch out and I need a good artist or CD recommendation(s). DH might be home when we are listening, so just male singers please.

I meant that we have a bunch of Yiddish music that my kids love, but I'd like to branch out and get some other types of Jewish music. My husband said, hey why not some Mizrachi music? Now I am looking for recommendations before I purchase a CD.

Forgive me for asking, but by mizrachi I assume you mean sefardi?

Often mixed together but actually different culture/music. Sephardi music would be related to Jews who can trace lineage to Iberian Peninsula (which can be often described as western Sephardi), whereas Mizrachi music would be related to Jews who are from Middle East and North Africa.

I'd definitely go for mizrachi music if you want something with beat...

Ah.
On the off-chance she meant DL I was going to recommend Kol Achai.
ETA: Just realized it says Religious Mizrachi. In the DL sense the italicized is obviously redundant.

Yes indeed Chaim Israel, Gad Elbaz and some Meydad Tasa, often has a good rhythm to compliment his lovely voice. Also on you tube so many sephardi simcha bands with lovely promotional videos and music. Often get my chavruta up for a dance when we celebrate good news and the mood takes us! Enjoy dancing with your kids op, sounds such fun. Tongue Out

Thanks, everyone! I am so happy to have some artists to look at. My kids will be thrilled, and I'm super excited. To Pinkfridge, yes I meant what Miss Bissli said.
