So my son just turned 9 and someone mentioned to me that now his aunts are not allowed (in her words - it's assur) to kiss him and he's not allowed to hear them sing.
Is this true? Sounds a bit extreme to me.
What else do I need to know?
Not looking for chimros only basic halacha.
Thanks

I believe the laws of yichud and negia apply. Only immediate female family members (mother, grandmother, sister, [wife, daughter not applicable at this time]) can touch him.
He is under Bar Mitzvah and he should not touch them or listen to their singing because of chinuch.

As far as I remember from school once a boy turns 9 all halachos of yichud and neggia apply with any girl over bas mitzvah.
Maybe ask your rav.

Halachos of Yichud and Negiya now apply with any girl over 3.

when you make an issue of these 'chumras' you put thoughts into a child's mind that would never otherwise be there ...

This is definitely not true. No halachos apply between two children.

Exactly. Question is are they chumros or halachos? According to previous posters these are halachos.

Are you referring to the girl over 3? Or the boy over 9? Or both?
Does anyone have a link to trustworthy online site that has the halachos? I've learned them in school but can't remember any of it....
