My sheitel is about 2 yrs old, and it started getting very tangly. It's not very long, about shoulder length, but I find that especially in the winter, when I have a coat/sweater on, it is constantly tangled. I can brush it before I leave for work, but by the time I come into work, I see these huge tangles in the mirror....I have to brush my sheitel many times a day but then it gets dirty faster....My sheitel macher said she deep conditions it to help with the tangles, but is there anything else I can do in between washes? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like a PH problem.

What do you do about Ph problems? Again, please pardon my ignorance...

You can try apple cider vinegar or a silicone mixture or both with the silicone going on first. I like Avanti. It is inexpensive and produces beautiful results.

I once deranged a wig by sealing the knots and then changing the ph. I have no clue why it worked, but it stopped the knotting on this wig.

Another cheap thing you can try is get a jar of Hellmans olive oil mayonnaise coat all the hair with it make sure not to go till the root/weft cover the wig (on a head) with silver foil leave it over night and then wash and set it. I've seen it work miracles!

I put the silicone on after I wash my wig. I heat up a damp towel in the microwave and then cover the wig with the silicone. I leave it a few hours. If you have another wig, you can leave it a few days. After you rinse the silicone out, style it. If that doesn't work, then try rinsing in apple cider vinegar after the silicone.

The wig sellers use silicone to give the wigs a shinier appearance. After two washings they look like regular hair. This happened to me with Freida and Malono wigs.

You don't have to deep condition every time.

The ph bath was a big process with the adhesive sealant. Try this with the silicone first.
