so if you keep purim on shushan purim - does this mean you fast for 2 days ?

of course not. you have tanit esther and then a day in between and then purim that you celebrate. Thats all.

When there's Purim Meshulash the fast is Wednesday and we read the megillah on Thursday night after the fast, but otherwise, as shabbatiscoming said we have a day in between to start partying, get ready, or a mixture of both.
