try finding a place in israel and have it delivered to the giftee or ask them to pick it up
depends what type of gift and if it's specific from america - find someone traveling who has extra space

If you send something in the mail, make sure its worth less than about $60 or there will be serious taxes the recipient will have to pay. Also they will have to pick it up from the post office which is a pain.
