I was so comfy and felt shabbosdik when I used to wear shabbos robes. LAtely the robes are not flattering at all.
I am only 5ft tall and chubby.
I need to feel very comfy but want to look nice without getting all dressed up just to stay home.
I am looking to hear what others with a similar figure to mine would wear on shabbos.
Names of stores and links would be great!

I get 2 nice maxi skirts, choose the colors you like, and match with some cheap pretty tops from old navy, NY and company, etc.

Maxi Dresses! I have a ton and LOVE them - it doesn't get much more comfortable. You might need to have them hemmed, because I find they are usually very long. But you can definitely find flattering ones everywhere from Target to Nordstrom.

I do this, too.
Also maxi dresses that are more dressy, and worn with a cardigan over it.
You may find some in department stores, Chico's, Monsoon and many other basic mall stores.

Can you explain what a maxi skirt/dress is - is that a manufacturer?

OK, links to nice Shabbosdik maxi dresses please I'm getting excited by this thread. I hadn't planned to buy myself a new robe because they're so expensive but I'm really tired of my old one and want something I can feel OK to go outside in without changing. So a Target-priced maxi dress sounds like a great idea! I hate shells/cardigans in principle but it's better than having to get DRESSED to take kids out and stuff

I wear a black maxi skirt with a shell (black or white) and throw over it literally anything from this to this to this

Maxi stuff doesn't usually look good on short people.
Friends of mine who are short wear a dressy top and a skirt (not pencil).

so if I wear a dressy top that is comfortable, I am probably going to be wearing something that I would wear to work during the week but not something that I would wear if I go to shul. Am I right?

You can get maxi length dresses, robes or skirts and shorten them to mid-calf. My mother does that all the time. She's very short and it's true that maxi lengths look terrible on her.

all of these maxi dresses look comfy but so casual. Also, none of them look like they would be flattering for a shorter woman (like the OP...and me).
When I stay home, I wear a long black skirt that's a bit fancier than weekday, and an easy top (like the one's suggested).

I think they mostly wear a-line or full skirts - something that doesn't restrict the movement.

This is something only you can know.l, since we don't know what u wear to work and what people in your community wear to shul.
