My daughter is almost three, and she had her ears pierced when she was only a few months old. She has been wearing the same pair ever since, never took them off. Recently I tried to put in a new pair, but one of the earrings won't come out. It seems as if the tissue of the ear grew around it? I don't know how to explain it, but how do I make it come off? I tried to put vaseline around it, but didn't help so far....Thanks!

Just make sure you use someone who takes your insurance (double check) so you won't have to shell out $1,100 for a 1 second procedure like we did! (We were told he accepted our insurance. And then the bill came.)
Also, do NOT use screw back earrings. Children who have a tendancy to this should wear huggies only.

I would spray it with warm water and a little soap every night for the next couple of nights and try to start twisting it slightly each night. Hopefully this will loosen it gently over time

try twisting them around in a circle ... did you just leave them sit in the same position for these 3 years ?

my cousin had that and needed it surgically removed and then ears were repierced once her holes closed up. My daughter started having the same thing happen but I caught it a couple of times when I was able to stI'll get them out myself (it was disgusting!)
We switched to huggies type (now longer dangle ones) since we left them in most nights. Now she's old enough to take care of it herself and take them out at night if she gets posts.
Sorry this happened to your dd but she's not the first...

WOw after reading this thread I think I don't want to have my daughter's ears pierced until she's old enough...I hope that your daughter gets well very soon!
