I'm sending a box of new clothes to a friend in Israel worth $200. Will she get taxed?

Do I need to take the tags off?

Go to boxesforisrael.org they send used clothing to israel every 2-3 months. Ive sent thru them many times, and often included some new stuff for my family members but took off tags.

Yes, a box of clothes with a declared value of $200 will definitely be taxed.

Under $75 is tax free.
