I was under the impression that snow peas and sugar snap peas were kitniyot, yet I saw them at the kosher supermarket last night where every trace of kitniyot was put away, so I was left wondering, with my mouth watering...
Anybody know for sure?

Yes, they are. Do you have a Sephardic community in town? It wouldn't faze me to see those being sold.

I believe all kinds of peas are kitniyos.

There is no prohibition to own kitniot even if one has the custom not to eat them.
