I made too much. Can I freeze the extra? How long will it last in fridge?

Yes, we make the chrein before first days. We freeze it and take out as we need. Delicious.

It can last months on end in the freezer.

Bumpimg up this thread.
When I froze my homemade chrein and then defrosted it, it's lost it's "spark"/ joie de vivre.
How do I preserve my chrein w/o it going lame on me?

If there’s sugar or vinegar in it it can last in the back if the fridge for many months.
I put in both sugar and vinegar and have a large glass dish in the back of the fridge and dish out some every few weeks into a smaller serving dish. It tasted great 5 month later.
