I would love to read AMA thread by you. What kinds of careers are there for someone who analyzes rhetorical writing? The only one I could come up with is an expert witness. Your career sounds fascinating.

You could identify Yael's other SN. Did you already? Shhhh.... We won't tell.

I beg your pardon.
My avatar is randomly chosen, of course. Although the correct shape for us penguins is, of course, well-padded.

Come to think of it, I do know one such woman.

Are you her?
Is she you?
Is she all of you?

Oy my head is splitting. Feeling beat up

I take great umbrage at that.

And for the benefit of those of you under 50:

Now I am peeved.

I have indeed heard of Professor Umbrage.

And Peeves, too.

No need to throw the book at me. I have a dictionary app, okay? My phone is so smart, it does all my thinking for me!

(Do you old-timers even know what an app is? Al Gore most certainly did not invent that!)

Silly

The same way Yankel grows up to become Yankev and a bichel's big brother is a Buch, an apple grows up to be an app. This is a fruit, as distinct from The Big Apple, which is a city that attracts a lot of both fruits and nuts.

Those of us over 50, being both articulate and literate and having an attention span of more than three seconds, prefer to speak in words of more than one syllable. We have bodies, not bods, do things because and not cuz, say things are all right, not K (which in our parlance is a vitamin), and we use applications, not apps.

Now you're saying Steve Jobs invented apps? Get your story straight, lady-over-fifty-who-has-a-thousand-screen-names.

Because I'm pretty sure applications were a Microsoft Windows thing.

(And camp. And seminary. But whatevs.)

FTR, I do not use exclusively monosyllabic words.

But then again, I'm only youngish, not young.

Semi-serious and apology accepted.

I've found a lot of wisdom here from women in all age groups.

I don't usually know which age group posters belong, so if anyone thinks I meant to insult them, I probably did not...

I'm glad there is such a diversity of ages, personalites, and viewpoints on here.

Actually, its David Geffen.

As to him being here, he IS Jewish (born in Borough Park, apparently). But he's a man. But a gay man. So weighing all the factors, WELCOME, David!

I've heard from FS. I'm not she (even though we're both over 50). She assured me that she's also not FS and we had her mixed up with some other over 50 woman

I am she as you are she as you are me
And we are all together

And yes, I do resemble a walrus; why do you ask?
