My close friend's husband and son are going in for surgery this week. I want to get a little something. Besides a meal what can I get? BH they are fine and healthy. Just having relatively minor surgery with a week to 2 weeks recovery. Son is young. Approx 3-4. Flowers? candy? toys?

You want to get something for your friend or for the patients?
If for your friend, maybe a book or something to keep her busy while she is waiting for the surgeries to be over. Or you can get her a mani/pedi gift certificate to treat herself when she is done taking care of the patients.
I don't know what would be appropriate for you to buy her husband.
for the son you can get any toy, book, or puzzle that he can do while relaxing. I imagine the dr will want him to take it easy for a couple days post op so maybe soemthing like playdough that he can play with calmly.
