How did you manage financially?

I am crunching numbers. Two things stand out. Very high monsey taxes and higher than brooklyn tuition.

We BH have a nice down payment but because of taxes and tuition it looks like we will need an extra fifty thousand a year to make ends meet.

Any ideas? Care to share how you make it work? I am grappling with this.

Move to an area with less taxes. Get scholarships or send your kids to a different school.

I pay $10,000 a year tuition and I am one of only a handful of full payers.

House prices r considerably lower than Brooklyn in monsey, even if taxes r higher. U donr n3d to go away for the summer also so no bungalow colony costs.

Right. You don't necessarily end up with a higher monthly housing expense because your mortgage is a lot lower in the first place.

We got more house in Monsey than in NYC, but our expenses were higher because of taxes and cars. You really need at least one car in Monsey.
