I quote
"Bas Hinda's (Passover) Chocolate Torte: we eat it all year !
I think the title says it all. If Bas Hinda had not discovered this amazing creation, I'd not only be hungry and grumpy all Pesach, I'd be thinner too !!!
The cake is so good I made it in Marcheshvan for my son's birthday and it disappeared !
Ingredients:
6 oz chocolate - any kind (I used the bag of Oppenheimer's pareve choc chips which are delicious)
1/2 cup oil, any kind
Melt. If you have a big enough pan, you can mix the cake in there too.
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt, any kind
1-2 tsp coffee, optional
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa powder
Add the above ingredients, mix thoroughly, and bake in small (8" round) greased pan for half an hour at 350 deg.
(I just quadrupled the recipe and baked it in 2 9 by 13 shallow pans.)
YOU WILL JUST LOVE THIS CAKE !!!!!! "
Would a homemade strawberry syrup/sauce be good on this or too sweet? I can't wait to make this!

I would like it with strawberry sauce, just not an overly sweet one. Observed it with sorbet.

I have lots of strawberries....so maybe I can cook them down a little to make a no sugar needed sauce to top the torte with. Thanks!

Yes I think that would be yummy. I serve it with strawberries but never made sauce. Whipped cream wouldn't be bad either. Or vanilla ice cream. Yum.

Welcome to the world of flourless chocolate cakes. I've been making this one for years on Pesach:
http://www.epicurious.com/reci.....14478
I would sometimes even double it (and bake it on yontif) and turn it into a trifle or a frosted cake. It's not spongy and light like a cake with a snow but it's not like a truffle either. It's a rich cake with crumbs.
