I love all biblical names, but when I think of the name "Miriam" I imagine a person with beauty, grace and elegance. I LOVE that name.

This is very interesting--I guess my daughter's name is up-and-coming again. I hardly know anyone under age 20 with her name, but a whole lot of you have her name on your lists!

Nechama
Raizel
Leiba
(One of my daughters is Nechama Raizel. I love her name and smile inside every time I think of it. If I have another girl, it will probably be Leiba.)
I also love the name Reina (favourite character in my favourite book) but my husband would never go for it! Ironically, I have a neice called Reina who is called by her other name; Malka.

Wow that is a long list of favorites! and in alphabetical order.. I am impressed. Maybe if I write out a list for real I will discover I am less picky with names than I am made out to be...

Love love love Ayelet!! A'H having a daughter soon and would love to use the name but I know my fam would be upset if I don't name for a fam member. I'll prob do it anyways bec the choice is ours and me and my husband feel this is the right name but ya never know how I'll feel after I have her.

Also love zehava and tehila ... maybe for future daughters Smile

I don't have a favourite per sé but if you're looking for inspiration, I'll give you all the girl names in my family (both husband and my side) including a name that will be used soon:

Amélie
Alice
Tiferet
Ariella
Batya
Tamar Rose
Gabrielle
Liel
Eliora
Michal
Sophia
Orya
Atara
Dahlia
Rachel

They are all called by their real name and no nicknames or shortening are used.

I grew to love Esther, as it's my daughter's name. I also have a soft spot for Goldy.

Wow if this thread has shown me anything it's that people have such different tastes! A lot of the names mentioned, especially the Yiddish ones, are ok but I never thought prole actually picked them and liked them. I assumed pple gave them out of duty or to make their families happy. Very enlightening!

I like elisheva, naomi (hebrew pronunciation, I don't like when people sneak a yud as if it was nayomi), avigail, talia, sophia, liora, avital, adira, ella...
