I think the name has a very pretty and very jewish sound to it. I like it but DH thinks its too out of the box. We are "just plain frum" I guess. We would give her a hebrew name if course, but would call her Brooke.

Does anyone know any frum Brookes? Are there any?

I know a frum Brooke. A lot of names we think are typically Jewish have out of the box roots.

Sounds Jewish? To me it sounds decidedly WASP, as in Brooke Astor. (Astor, of German descent, was her third husband. She was born a Russell.) Or little John "Demi" Brooke, Meg's son in Little Women. It also conjures up a prepubescent Brooke Shields appearing nude in Pretty Baby or suggestively cooing about how nothing comes between her and her Calvins.

So there are two frum Brookes on planet earth. OP, it's going to give the kid stares and weirdness. Don't.

I know a frum Brooke. It might be a legal name for Bracha or a nickname (Bruchy- Brookie).

Yup that's definitely a name appropriate for a nice frum jewish girl. Especially with the middle name Lynn... (Where else would a frum girl come from?)

I know at least two frum girls/women named Brooke. I don't think it's all that far out there, if you want to call her that. Do other kids in your community go by English names, or the English version of their Hebrew name (Abby, Jacob, that kind of thing)?

Brooke was a very trendy name in the 80s. I think that it is a little dated, but any name can become dated. I actually know a Chassidishe woman who is named Brucha and called Brookie as a nickname like some Sura's can be called Sukie or Leah's Laikie...

Sukie? Oy I wouldn't...

I have a (male!!) cousin Brooke, I think MO or JPF. I wouldn't do Brooke on a girl and am not generally fond of Brooke, Aspen and all these names from places and surnames. I don't "get" them.

ITA. To me they all sound like soap opera names.

I love the name Brooke. I know several young people by that name, and I don't think it's dated.

I know a few Brookes who are women and one who is a man. It's a fine sounding name. It doesn't "sound Jewish" to me at all.
