What features to consider when shopping for a microwave?
What size is big enough for a family?
(OTOH, what size is for sure too small?)
Any good brands or ones to avoid?
I am looking for something inexpensive but convenient in use.
Thanks!

Do you want over the range, built-in, or countertop? How often will you use it and what do you use it for? Do you need it to double as anything (e.g. convection oven)? How much are you willing to spend?
All factors in choosing a microwave.

Mommyla, thank you for responding.
I am looking for a countertop one, mostly for reheating food, maybe baking potatoes too.

Small is good enough for most use. Reheating, potatoes, popcorn, steaming milk... Unless you know of large things you will want to put in regularly.

IMO, the smallest and simplest (usually under $50) is the best. It does virtually anything you want.

Is .9 or 1.1 too small, or is 1.6 the good size?
