Below is an interesting article of how crime in the black communitites (black on black crime, as well as other crimes committed by black people on white people) is being ignored and shoved under the rug.
Just recently, there was a gang shooting near my house where two black people were killed and others were injured by black gang members. The black community respond by saying, let's not discuss our gangs, ultimately shoving this problem under the rug. No one is protesting these gang shootings it since they can't blame it on so called "racism".
I work with a black women who tells me horror story after horror story about black people being killed on a daily basis by other black people and no one doing anything about it. She says she is scared to walk in her own neighborhood at night because of high crime/violence. Yet no one is doing anything about that either. Why is black on black crime (and black on white crime) being shoved under the rug and why should anyone believe that black lives matter when no is is protesting the lives of black people killed by other black people? And what can we do to change this?

Sigh, this stuff is being addressed by the black community. There are a host of initiatives, programs, etc aimed at resolving this issue. And it's more specific than the "black community" its in poor black communities, economics and institutional issues that include lack of economic development in certain communities, poor jobs, the war on drugs, poor educational institutions that contribute to these issues. it's more complicated than just saying oh let's stop people from shooting each other. Also most people are killed by someone they know. Almost an equal percentage of white people are killed by white people, but no one talks about "white on white" crime because the crime itself is not the issue they care about it, it's the diversion from talking about issues like police brutality. Because if they were truly interested in crime in impoverished black communities that would know about and seek to support the work that people are trying to do to solve these issues. What people seem to be missing is the distinction between the prosecution of black people who kill black people and the lack of prosecution of law enforcement officials who kill people. For example, if a black civilian just kills another black person they will get prosecuted and jail time. If a black person is killed by a police officer there is no accountability, no prosecution, no jail time, no repercussions-- and that affects black people despite socio economic status, because a lot of people treat any black person (regardless of socio economic status) like a gang banger.

Anon, because I've had this convo a lot recently.

"Yet no one is doing anything about that either."

Actually that's not true. Simply because the Post says something doesn't make it true. Simply because you are unaware of what's going on doesn't make it true either. Do some research.
