DH had a few talks with our son about puberty and zex but failed to mention nocturnal emissions or "wet dreams." My 11 year old DS is definitely in puberty based on changes we have seen and our ped. Is this something you need to warn a DS about in case it happens? If so what do you say? "Sometimes the body of a mature boy will release sperm during the night, if this happens on its own it is normal." Any suggestions appreciated.

That sounds perfect. Depending on how much he knows, you might want to add something like "if you wake up and feel wet it is not a big deal, you can just change into fresh underwear/pjs and put the wet ones in the hamper." (Just in case he doesn't connect "releasing sperm" with the feeling of dampness.)

I don't have kids and am not qualified to give advice about how to have this type of conversation, but I think you or your husband should definitely mention it, or give him a book that mentions it. He shouldn't be afraid that there's something wrong with his body or feel ashamed once this starts to happen.
