A friend is treating me to a new bag as mine is all worn out and I cant afford a nice one.

She is willing to spend up to 300 dollars.

I need one with a zipper and not very big but not very small somewhere in the middle.

I dont know if it makes a difference but I am in my 40s but look younger.

What color should I go with that I could wear with everything and will be used for a few years that wont go out of style. I dont want black because I am so tired of it.

TIA

why not spend $50ihs on a nice bag and then $250ish for food for your family since you said you are low on funds? You can find nice bags on sale at coach outlet or macys

Because this is a gift....
I can totally relate.
We live month by month and low on funds but I appreciate a nice bag. I get one every 2-3 years as gift from my Mom. She isn't offering the money for food!

Why not try on a few to see what you like and what looks good depending on your height etc. I would def choose a well made leather bag that will last a while.
Enjoy the gift!

Thanks for helping but I kind of know what style I want but I am stuck on what color I should get, I dont have money to get a few different colors so it has to be one color that wont go out of style too quickly.

Wheat thank you for your response you definitely understand.

In a style course I learned that tp choose a color of the bag, you need to analyze the rest of your wardrobe and shoes. A simple rule is that it needs to be a color yiu can definitely describe in one word, like black grey or brown (amother colors don't count!!!)
if you can't figure out a name because it is reddish brown or purplish greyot something like that, it is probably not a classic bag that would match everything and stay in style.

Some if the links posted above a classic shapes and colors that will always be in style, like a shopper or a bowling bag. Just choose what suita you better. If you carry a lot of papers and folders, than the fossil shopper from above, if it more of a bulky stuff then something with volume.

it is leather so make sure you realize it will be heavier than other materials, so maybe choose a smaller bag so it doesn't kill your shoulder.

I got a bag I really like at Marshalls. It was under $100. It's camel with brown accents. It goes with most things. You can get 2 good ones there within the budget covering your wardrobe.
