Yesterday I was doing a Compliance training module at work and one slide had a map of the Middle East. All the countries were named, but next to Israel it just said Gaza (and didn't say Israel anywhere). I emailed the Compliance training email address and complained, but no one got back to me. My husband said not to make a big deal about this, but I have been feeling very unsettled.

I know exactly what you mean. A year and a half ago, a professor at San Diego State University showed his students a map of the Middle East referring to Israel as Palestine. I, and I'm sure others, spoke with the president of the university and was assured that they "are aware and are looking into it". Subsequently the professor penciled in the the word Israel on the map. I have no doubt that in both cases the addition/omission was deliberate. I salute you for writing that email.

Good for you for standing up against anti-semitism.
