Hi All,
I am wondering what the standard salary is for a secretary working 9-3. I am also doing other things like PR and event planning for them. They offered 30k and said it is way more then the going rate. When speaking to others today who do similar work in Lakewood they told me they get paid the same without working Fridays. Now I am wondering if they totally took advantage of me! So my question is- what is the going salary for an office position that is more than just answering phones?
TIA!~

I think starting secretary salary is anywhere from $12-15 an hour. You didn't specify if you work Friday 9-3 as well. Do you any vacation - is Yom Tov paid, etc.
If I calculate 30 hours a week, 52 weeks a year at $15 I get 23,400. Are you there a long time?

Its about 19.20 an hour. It sounds very decent.
Do you get paid sick leave, vacation time? Are you paid for yomim tovim?
Do you get other benefits? insurance.
All of those would also be calculated as part of your salary.
Do you have a degree or past experience in regards to this job?
