My toddler just had a routine blood test for lead and hemaglobin, and the hemaglobin is slightly low. Doctor wants him taking iron drops and eating more fleishigs. We only eat fleishigs on Shabbos for budgetary reasons. What else has iron in it? Also, any tips for giving the drops? He hates taking medicine.

Sunflower seeds, spinach, nuts, lamb (meat), liver (meat), and tofu all contain iron in various amounts.

Are there any other physical symptoms?

Nope. He's actually the most energetic of my kids. Lucky me, I made a big pot of chicken soup for Shabbos, and I fished out a big piece of chicken for him. He took 3 bites and threw it on the floor. He likes chicken. It's like he KNEW I really really wanted him to have it
