Sequoia, James Shapiro sounds very smart and I will look into him. But he is no old timer. I have no idea what he says but he got his own eduction in the seventies and eighties so he too is in that long, long, still current, period of airy post-modern deconstructivism. He may have resisted it manfully, I have no idea. He sounds interesting.
