I need something airtight, doesn't take up space, nothing silly like mason jars with lids. For some reason not finding anything good at Bed and Bath or online. What can you recommend for sugar, four, powder sugar and brown sugar?
TIA

Inexpensive plastic screw-cap canisters from the el cheapo store. I don't see how you can expect to store 5 lbs. of flour or 4 lbs. of sugar in something that "doesn't take up space". Rubbermaid has some kind of collapsible containers that you can make smaller or larger depending on how much is in there, but I'm highly skeptical about the shelf life of such a container. Any material that gets folded over and over will eventually crack along that fold, so if you actually use that collapsible feature, you will be effectively hastening the death of that container. My el cheapo giant plastic screw-cap jars, well, two of them have been in continuous use for sugar and flour since 1981 and they are still going strong. I liked them so much that when years later I found something similar, I bought a few more for items like bulk oatmeal. I prefer glass for food storage, but a glass canister for 5 lbs of flour would be way too expensive, heavy, and dangerous, since my baking goods live on a shelf around eight feet above the floor, and I'm not getting any taller.

I have rubbermaid containers with snap on lids I bought 10 years ago at Walmart. They do the job but the seal on the covers are not as tight as they used to be.

If I was doing it again I would get the OXO square canisters. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Squa.....HYB9E

Square and rectangle will take up less room as they fill fit better with each other then round.

I've been using Tupperware modular Mates for over 30 years: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF.....mates

Because they're still manufactured in the same sizes they were then, over the years I've replaced the lids on some and also added more, and have never had to go to a different brand.

I have cheap rubbermaid cannisters that I've been using for 10+ years. I keep cheap plastic measuring cups inside each cannister so I don't have to dirty and wash one every time I need 1/4 cup of flour or sugar.

Bump. Any other suggestions with specific links?
Would love the oxo ones but wondering if there is something else with a specific link less pricey?
TIA

Same. Very similar to Tupperware but cheaper.
