I want to go with my husband middle of the week for a couple of hours. Any recommendations for a quiet spot somewhere not too Far?
Of course I don't expect to be able to swim

After 5 its easy to find a spot. I like driving down cedar bridge toward Mantoloking, crossing over the bridge and making a right (I think that is correct). Then find parking and a path to the beach and a quiet spot. You should even be able to go in. Its a quieter beach, there are no restrooms, boardwalk, food, so I find it less crowded.

Before 5 most beaches are crowded and you need to pay for a pass.

I've heard Island Beach State Park you can sometimes find a quiet spot if you drive through but it isn't guaranteed - there is an entrance fee. Weekdays is probably even quieter.
