Last week's Mishpacha had a cake, called a storm cake or something, with sour cream. I made it with Tofutti sour cream. It was a major hit.
And mazel tov and use it in good health! I remember reading somewhere that Yaffa Ganz said that if she could only take one small appliance with her to a desert island it would be a food processor.

I only really use mine for potato or other kugel, latkes, chopping lots of veggies, pesto and some other dips (although I normally use an immersion blender) crumble topping, pie crust.
I don't use it that often but I wouldn't be without one.

Hummus. You can make it with legumes other than chic peas, like fava beans or small white beans.

Yes to Zaq. Chummus.
You can cook dried chick peas overnight in the slow cooker, drain them, and into the food processor they go. Bottled lemon juice and garlic powder, or fresh lemon juice and real garlic, whatever, and tahini if you have it. And olive oil. Adjust to your taste.
Cheap, filling, traditional.
Present it dusted with paprika, or something like it, some red spice powder, for looks.

The word is mirepoix, pronounced Meer Pwah. | Oops, thanks for catching that! Gotta love autocorrect.
