I'm looking for the impossible. Jewish movies that are fun or funny, but not irreverent or sacrilegious. It seems like most good qualify Jewish films are extremely depressing, and I'm looking for some light entertainment for DD.
There's only so many "teeny bopper Disney" movies I can stomach, and we like to do a popcorn and movie night after Shabbos. We've already watched every American Girl movie ever made, twice.

Check out the Gene Wilder film "The Frisco Kid". I remember it being very funny and positive about Judaism, but I can't remember if there are any jokes that are really inappropriate for kids (it's set in the old west) so I would give it a once-over ahead of time.

the two Kol Neshama musicals are upbeat, but with some sad parts too (one is set in an orphanage, the other is about a young Holocaust survivor in the USA in the 1950's).
Plus, if you watch A Light for Greytowers, you'll get to see me at age 16
This is a streaming/rental website for Jewish movies: http://mostlymusic.com/collect.....women
Pricier than Netflix, for sure, but cheaper than committing to buying the DVDs.
