Hi, we are hoping to make Aliyah next summer and trying to plan our pilot trip. Wanted to hear from anyone who knows anything about the following communities: Rehovot, Mazkeret Batya, Zichron yaacov, Migdal Haemek (heard there is some new anglo community starting there)?
We are a family with school age kids and a toddler. We are modern orthodox I am way on the left of modern orthodox, husband more center. We would like to live in a place with people like us, and also people not like us (our friends both here and Israel range the religious gamut). We are looking for a place with some anglos but not overwhelmingly anglo like Ranaana, etc)
We want to be in a place where we don't have to be in a car too much, though obviously commuting is a part of life, and can bike at least in the neighborhood (we are very into wheeled vehicles, we own 7 bicycles and 8 unicycles)
Most importantly, we have some special needs-son with high functioning autism, another with learning disabilities, though the bigger issue is the autism so we need to be in a place with access to psychologists, groups for kids with autism, resources etc.
Please write if you live in any of these places or have thoughts on them. thanks! zahava
