are you particular about a brand of cocoa powder? My local store only carries Hershey and Nestle. I am not so impressed with them; when I make brownies or something, the chocolate taste is just "blah"-- not sure if I can explain it well.
A neighbor will be in Brooklyn today and can pick up a different brand.....any recommendations?

I have a big container of cocoa from Costco, I can't remember the brand, but it's Dutch processed, and very, very rich.

Elite and almost all the cocoa sold in Israel is dutched. I think that Hersheys and Nestle are natural cocoa which is lighter and less intensely flavored.
OP look for dutched cocoa if you are not happy with Hershey and Nestle.

Cacao Barry or Callebaut, you have to mail order it by the kilo. It is Dutched and very rich.

Cool. I'll check it next time I go.
Sorry I can't help, OP. I use whatever's cheapest; I stock up on loss leaders Pesach time, or I go with generic supermarket (has a hechser) or Hershey's.

I am under the impression that different Costcos carry different items, so I can't be sure if yours will have it. Or that mine still has it, for that matter. But do keep an eye out

thanks everyone for responding.
PF-- I actually called HY from Costco in a panic-- the two costcos near me don't carry that! It is not sold in any Costcos in my area of the country-- the CS lady checked the database for me!
Etky, yeah, I haven't found any dutched cocoas in the supermarkets in my area.
Nylon, where do you mail order yours from?
I asked someone to pick up Shufra for me in brooklyn. In the future, I will probably order one of the suggested brands from amazon.com
thanks again to all.

I order from chocosphere.com. Only thing to know if you're ordering anything but plain cocoa powder is that while they say which items are kosher they don't provide hechsher information. OK certifies Callebaut and you can check items on their site.
