I absolutely hate baking!!! We are having guests over and I need to have some homemade goods in the house (To my husband's sheer delight Wink )

Does anyone have any easy but delicious cookie/brownie type recipes? Please only post recipes with simple ingredients!

Thanks y'all!!

The brownie bars halfway up are so simple, you can mix them up right in a 9x13 disposable pan.

You'll need :

Peanut Butter (חמאת בוטנים מתוקה B&D)

Caster sugar (אבקת סוכר)

rice krispies unsweetened (פצפוצי אורז)

Chocolate (milchig or parve)

A large bowl

Quantity is up to personal taste. So taste and change as needed.

Mix all ingredients except chocolate in a large bowl.

Spread in baking pan

Melt chocolate and pour over rice krispies

Pop in the freezer

Wait a few hours and... Eat Smile

Enjoy

Avkat sukar is powdered or confectioner's sugar, not caster sugar which is the British term for superfine granulated sugar.
Do you use the powder or the extra-fine סוכר דקדק which is the closest thing to caster sugar that you can get here?

You just buy rice crispies (B&D the purple bag are good)
Peanut Butter (I buy B&D חמאת בוטנים מתוקה)

Confectioner's sugar

A yummy chocolate

That's all you need

They come out heavenly!

You don't need the original rice krispies, I think those cost triple the price!

Any rice crispies will do Smile

They're totally off my radar since we're not Rice Krispie eaters (not sweet enough for my kids Confused ) and I've never bought them. The other day I saw a recipe that called for them and I honestly couldn't even recall if they are sold here or not.
However, I do know that there are the local versions, like the ones JMM is talking about that come in these big plastic bags. I'm not sure they're with the boxed cereals though. Maybe in the natural foods department?

I have a easy chocolate chip biscotti recipe. Doesn't need a mixer.

dough:
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
2 tsp baking powder
1 T vanilla
4 cups flour
8 oz chocolate chips

Topping:
1 T sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Mix dough ingredients (I use less chocolate chips than 8 oz)
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes for a chewy biscotti. If you want crunchy, you can slice them and put them back in the oven for 10 more minutes on their sides.

I bake mine in loaf pans and slice when warm. They freeze well. the person who gave me the recipe said she actually forms the loaves on a cookie sheet - easier my way:)

ETA - mix the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over loaves before baking.

Yum I'm so in the mood now!

I never saw them in the cereal aisle. I will look in the natural foods department and check it out.

Easy easy one bowl brownies

http://www.kingarthurflour.com.....ecipe

Follow the comments re sizing - either double recipe in 9x13 or one recipe in smaller pan so they're thicker. And oil it very very well, my nonstick pan was a mess.

Very yummy, gooey, chocolaty which I personally hate lol but it's a great recipe Smile tastes classic, similar to the Duncan Hines brownie mix

This is literally a one bowl chocolate cake that we love. My 4 year old asks for it pretty often. http://smittenkitchen.com/blog.....cake/

Now I want to make it for shabbos!

Blondies or brownies made with oil instead of margarine can be mixed with a spoon then poured into a 9x13 pan.
Sprinkle generously with chocolate chips as soon as they come out of the oven. After they melt drizzle a tsp. of oil, spread it and top with sprinkles, coconut or chopped nuts for an easy fancy looking topping.
