A bag of rinsed dried mixed beans, some potatoes, some barley (it exands a lot cooking), a bag of rinsed dried chick peas, a bag of rinsed dried red beans - that's a LOT of beans, so you will see what fits - and a large jar of Barilla tomato sauce, any kind, plus the jar shaken up with water again. Put a few garlic cloves in and maybe three or four peppercorns.

Water to two thumb knuckles from the top. You don't want it to go over the top.

Check for there being enough water. Any water you add later must be boiling water. That has been boiling hard for a minute or two.

Serve over rice. Your rice maker will make the rice. Some Turmeric in the rice will give it a yellow color; it has no taste in small amounts. Some Fenugreek in the rice tastes great. But plain is fine. You might put a tablespoon of olive oil in the rice if you want. The proportion is: two volumes water to one volume of well rinsed rice.

So this is basically rice and beans with tomato sauce. Add no salt; there is salt in the sauce.

Any salsa you want to put in will be fine.

Any sliced hard boiled eggs you want to add as you serve it will be fine. Have a wire egg-slicer. Dust with a little paprika or black pepper for appearance.

A green salad, and that's dinner. You might have hot sauce on the table.

This will cook overnight or start it in the early morning for dinner. It needs eight hours.

I don't pre-soak beans; but some do. For that, allow an hour to soak well covered with water, discard that water, rinse them in the wire mesh strainer, and then cook them.
