Like what you bake cupcakes in... Do these need a hechsher?

I can tell you that I called the cRc (Chicago vaad) once before Pesach and asked this question in terms of Pesach and they said all were fine, so I think that would go for the rest of the year too. You can email them or the Star-K through links on their websites if you'd like.

I don't know about all year round, but for Pesach it's not that simple. The ones with any hechsher (O-U, Star-K, etc), are usually okay for Pesach, as per their certifying agencies.

There is a very popular company (Jewish company, but hechsher not always on all packaging) that produces a lot of the cupcake holders sold locally. When I tried to research it online, I found a list with only a few of their items, so I called them about their other items. They specifically told me that some of their prints could be problematic for Pesach, so I should go by the list online.

For year round use, standard cupcake holders are probably okay whether they have a hechsher or not. But for Pesach, make sure it has at least some sort of hechsher, whose list you can double check for Pesach status.

No they don't. I had no idea it even existed when someone first asked. I had to ask the question and was told no.

That is definitely NOT what I was told personally by the cRc. I would suggest asking your LOR or Vaad before assuming that is the case. If you are told so, fine, but obviously not everyone holds thatw is the case.

Are you talking about the muffin liners or cups that are placed on a cookie sheet?
