my old babysitter agreed to come to my house 3x a week, early mornings before her next job starts, to help straighten up and that sort of thing.
she davka doesn't do heavy cleaning or scrubbing.

How should I make a list of things to do for her ? Shes coming Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
What should I tell her to do?

thanks!

Clear counters and table and wash down.
Wash, dry and put away dishes.
Put away toys in organized separate bins.
Fold laundry and put away.
Organize drawers and shelves in closets, one a day.
Bread chicken cutlets / clean chicken for dinner.
Cut melon or vegetables and store in separate containers in fridge.
Hold baby while you shower.

Just some ideas.

That is really up to you. What do you need done?

My cleaning help does do heavy cleaning. But she also does lighter housework. Some of the things she does:

-wash laundry
-fold laundry
-put away laundry
-iron
-change linen
-make beds
-Polish silver
-organize closets
-clean up toys
-wash dishes
-sweep
-dust
-pack away groceries

Do yourself a favor and first declutter on your own. That will leave your cleaner free to do what she does best and you like doing least--CLEAN. Your cleaner should not be organizing your drawers, cabinets and closets because she's not the one using them. what makes sense to her won't make sense to you and you will never be able to find your own stuff. Have her fold laundry, not put it away unless YOU tell HER what goes where.

thanks for all the replies!
I struggle the most with daily organization.
zaq- you are 100% right, I must declutter first, but its so hard for me! I struggle with putting things away, in the correct spot, on a daily basis.

Thanks for all the replies!

Decluttering one room at a time:

1. Get a big box or basket
2. "Sweep" everything that's out of place--whether on the floor or on a higher surface-- into the basket. For sanitation reasons, you may want two boxes--one for stuff you found on the floor and one for everything else
3. Leave the basket somewhere handy but not where it will trip anyone. Under a table or desk kneehole is good. This will leave your surfaces more or less free and accessible to the cleaner.
4. Any time you can't find something you need, look in the basket.
5. After using the item, put it back where it belongs.
6. After a few weeks, go thru what's left in the basket. Whatever is clearly junk (broken, outdated, meaningless paper) throw out. Whatever is good, put in a big bag marked "Goodwill" or "Shul rummage sale" or whatever local organization takes used merchandise.
7. Deliver bag to said local organization.
8. Lather, rinse, repeat.
