Hes no Johnny Carson and hes no David Letterman.
Somewhat disappointing (to me) premiere, despite rave reviews by Variety and NYTimes.
Not sure if I just dont think his facial expressions are funny, which Carson and Letterman absolutely mastered. Or that his voice makes me think newscaster and not comic... Dunno. The audience laughter sounds forced. Maybe because Im barely laughing.

He's much closer to the late night hosts of prehistory, Jack Paar and Steve Allen. I think the show was entertaining. I like it because he's no longer constrained by his former character and he's got great writers. Will I watch every day? No I think not, my tv viewing isn't that regular. I'll definitely tune into a featured clip if it's linked up on a site I read.
